As homeowners we have three responsibilities when it comes to Insurance Policies.
We know this can be a daunting process. Let us guide and help you. We do this every day.
This is the first and most important step. You don't want to assume you have storm damage and file a claim. Professionally, ONLY a HAAG Certified Roof Inspector, has the skills, training, and credential to provide you with a Certified Roof Inspection report. The second credential that can offer an Accredited Inspection is an InterNACHI CPI (Certified Professional Inspector) with a focus on Roof Inspections.
Know whos on your roof before letting them up!
If you have Hail or Wind damage as we can see in the photo above, we will document it. Our credentials accredit us to perform the inspection through the same eyes as what your insurance adjuster would do. In many occasions, once our credentials are verified by your insurer, we area able to provide them our inspection report and estimate without them having to come out. If you don't have damage, we provide a report of good roof health and schedule you for next year.
If you have damage in line with verifiable storm dates to match the physical observations, then we recommend that a claim is filed immediately. In order for us to efficiently work with you and your insurance, we ask you to complete and sign a "Representation Agreement" which is contingent on your insurer agreeing with our finding and indemnifying you. If you are not paid for your roof you don't owe us a thing and we help you make sure you are protected until you are ready for a roof replacement.
Once a claim number has been assigned, we communicate directly with your adjuster and provide the documents they may require from us. If they need to come out and inspect complete their report, we set up a time that we can meet them there and discuss our findings with them.
In 95% of our projects, your insurer will see and agree with our findings and prepare your indemnification. We then collaborate with your adjuster in determining the proper and required re-roofing construction cost.
Once your adjuster has wrapped up his or her paperwork, your documents are emailed or physically mailed to you along with a check, minus your deductible, so we can start the project.
We then itemize the project at hand together with you, complete a job order contract, pick roofing component colors, and set an install date.
Your deductible is paid upon job contract execution.
During the next 14 working days, we complete the process of pulling permits, scheduling material and dumpster deliveries, watch the weather, and finalize an install date.
Once the install is complete we pass city building code inspections and get ready to prepare our final invoices billable to your insurer.
We then send your insurer proof of job completion so that they can send you the release of depreciation that is generally held back on most jobs, along with any "In-Progress" additional expenses generally incurred on most jobs.
You will then expect to receive the final payment due for your roof within 2 weeks. Sometimes this payment can take up to 6 months. Don't worry, we understand when that happens and we will not bill you or put a lien on your home. It's part of the process and we are here to help not stress. Once you receive the final payment due to us we will go by and pick it up or you can deposit it into our account for us.
